Education and Training

Coast Life Support District periodically sponsors classes supporting emergency medical response. All classes are open to the community.

Emergency Medical Technician and Emergency Medical Responder (aka First Responder)

In conjunction with Mendocino County Career Technical Education (CTE), CLSD sponsors an annual certification course for each. These courses are typically attended by current and prospective members of local fire departments, state and county park staff, and Sheriff Department personnel, although they are open to the public. For more information, contact Operations Manager Evan Dilks.

The 2016 EMR class starts on September 20, 2016. The 2016 EMT class finished in June of 2016. Information on upcoming classes can be found here.

Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation/Automatic External Defribulator (CPR/AED)

CLSD offers CPR/AED training at three levels: classes for the lay community, for professionals who require certification as a job qualification, and for medical providers. Some Heartsaver CPR/AED classes include First Aid training. For more information, send email to CPR Training or call (707) 884-1829 x31. Information on upcoming classes can be found here.
